Homelessness is an Experience not a Person
At the Interactive Resource Center, we invite people experiencing — or at risk for — homelessness to be part of a supportive community free of barriers. Working alongside our guests, we provide services that help our Guilford County neighbors reconnect with their own lives and with the community at large. The Interactive Resource Center promotes dignity, respect, connection and empowerment in an environment where trust and relationships matter. We’re engaging those we serve in building their own progress toward a life without homelessness.
A Whole-Person Approach
As Guilford County’s only day resource center for people currently facing, experiencing or coming out of homelessness, we use a whole-person approach to address all aspects of the homeless experience. This means we provide everything from fundamental services (showers, laundry, or a mailing address for example) to medical and mental health care, case management and employment services. We meet our guests where they are, gather the resources they need to gain shelter and help them create a new path forward.
"When we see each other - truly see each other - anything is possible."

Support the IRC
Much of the IRC’s funding comes from donors like you! While the IRC receives grant funding through foundations, churches, organizations and through the city, state and federal government, individual donations represent the heart of the community. If you, too, believe that homelessness is an experience and not a person, join the Interactive Resource Center in changing that experience for good. A gift to the IRC is a gift of hope for our most overlooked neighbors, especially when they need it most.
